The superb 5 star river cruise ship MS Lord Byron first entered service in 2012. She can carry a maximum of 140 passengers in addition to a crew of 35 making a ratio of 4:1 and therefore allowing a nice personal feel for anyone taking a river cruise on ms Lord Byron.
Dining takes place in the main restaurant situated on Ruby deck where buffet breakfast, buffet lunch and evening dinner is served with most tables accommodating four or six people. Food is of the absolute highest quality! However there is a small restaurant on diamond deck next to the lido bar. Here you can take early-bird breakfast, light lunch and dinner but availability is limited and bookings must be made on board Lord Byron only. Evening dinner is single sitting.
On Diamond deck there is the panorama lounge and bar. The lounge on Lord Byron offers superb views to the outside and is a great place to meet new friends and relax to music from the resident pianist or even make use of the dance floor! For those who prefer to relax in relative peace without returning to their cabin there is the lido bar and terrace aft on Diamond deck.
The top deck on Lord Byron is the Sun deck, ideal for looking at the passing historic villages, hills, valleys and other lovely scenery. There are a number of comfortable sun-loungers and chairs dotted around plus you can try your luck at giant chess and shuffleboard or, weather permitting, take a dip in the small plunge pool. Should the weather be suitable occasional barbecues take please on sun deck.
Other facilities include a purpose-built spa area, sauna, steam room and hairdresser. A small additional charge will be made for some or all of these so please ask when on board.
Cabins on Lord Byron are all tastefully furnished and are amongst the most comfortable and best appointed on any European river cruise ship.
Emerald deck has 11 standard cabins (161 sq ft) and 1 suite (199 sq ft).
Ruby deck has 30 standard cabins (161 sq ft) and 2 suites (199 sq ft).
Diamond deck has 22 standard cabins (161 sq ft) 4 suites (199 sq ft). and 4 deluxe suites (242 sq ft)
Dress code on Lord Byron during the day is casual whereas evenings is smart casual and informal.
