Princess Cruises is a premium cruise line known as “The Love Boat”, operating a fleet of 17 ships that visit more than 330 ports across all seven continents. Owned by Carnival Corporation, the line is celebrated for its MedallionClass technology—a wearable device that simplifies everything from touchless boarding to ordering drinks to your exact location on the ship.
As of 2026, the Princess Cruises fleet consists of 17 active ships categorized into four primary classes: Sphere, Royal, Grand, and Coral. The fleet is designed to offer a blend of traditional elegance and modern innovation, featuring the newest mega-ships like the Sun Princess and the long-serving “grande dame” of the fleet, the Grand Princess.
- Sphere Class: These are the largest and most modern ships in the fleet, the first to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). They feature The Dome, a glass-enclosed entertainment space inspired by Santorini, and the immersive Spellbound by Magic Castle experience.
- Royal Class: Best known for the SeaWalk, a 60-foot-long glass-enclosed walkway extending over the ocean. They offer more balcony cabins and high-end dining like Chef’s Table Lumiere.
- Grand Class: The most numerous class, providing a traditional “mid-sized” feel. Diamond Princess is notably tailored for the Japanese market with features like an Izumi Japanese bath and sushi restaurant.
- Coral Class: The smallest and most nimble ships, designed specifically to navigate the locks of the Panama Canal. They are often used for more exotic, destination-rich itineraries.
