Great Lakes Grand Discovery
Almost 15,000 years ago, the very last of the great glaciers retreated and left behind the five Great Lakes. These incredible stretches of water contain more than 20 percent of the earth’s fresh surface water and are made up of Lake Superior, Lake Ontario, Lake Michigan, Lake Erie and Lake Huron. Sailing on the M/V Victory helps one look deep into North America’s maritime history. On this Great Lakes grand discovery visit the delightful Mackinac Island in the Straits of Mackinac which connects Lake Huron and Lake Michigan before transiting the Soo Locks on to Michigan on the south shore of the largest of the five great lakes, the enormous and aptly named Lake Superior. Spend a captivating morning with the Ojibwe people, one of the largest Indigenous ethnic groups north of the Rio Grande, at charming Georgian Bay. Cruise the whole day on scenic Lake Huron which is made up of over 30,000 islands. Detroit is situated on the Detroit River, one of the four major straits that connect the Great Lakes system to the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Here you may visit the Henry Ford Museum before cruising Lake Erie and head towards the incredibly spectacular Niagara Falls.

Midwest Majesty & the Archipelagos of Georgian Bay
A wonderful survey of the beautiful coastlines of Lake Superior and Lake Huron from Thunder Bay, Ontario to Detroit, Michigan. Georgian Bay, tucked into Ontario’s Lake Huron, is a bit of a misnomer. At 5,792 square miles it’s not much smaller than Lake Ontario (7,320 square miles), earning it the nickname ” the sixth Great Lake”. With more than 1,240 miles of greyish-pink granite shoreline, it is part of a UNESCO biosphere reserve and a summer freshwater playground for boaters, anglers and kayakers.
